Mouros Beach
Mouros beach is one of the most unique coastal beaches of Amorgos, situated on the southeastern coast of the island. It’s a beach that is surrounded by massive cliffs and is a mix of soft sand and smooth pebbles.If you are a swimming enthusiast, you can explore safely the right side of the beach and reach the natural caves with the deep crystal water. At the beginning of the trail is a tavern, overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy delilicious seafood after swimming. You can reach the spot by car or bus, then you can walk to the destination in about 10 minutes. It’s virgin and wild beauty will surprise you.
Agia Anna Beach
It is a very small beach and is located a few kilometres from the center of Amorgos. The beach is easily accessible by car or a short hike from the parking area above, It is consisting of pebbles that accommodates a few groups people.Of course if you don’t want to leave the beach,you can spread your towel on the rocks that surround the point .Going down the path just before you reach the place you will see the small Agia Anna church,which looks like a magical scene with its cycladic character and the endless blue that unfolds behind it. During your visit to Agia Anna beach, you cant miss the monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa. A monastery with a history dating from 11th century, which is built on the rock.When you get there,you can enter the monastery and enjoy the spectacular view of the Aegean sea. It’s about 1 kilometer distance walking but it is definitely worth it.Do not forget to bring with you water and food,as there is no shop nearby.
Maltezi Beach
This beautiful golden beach stretches along the coastiline, offering calm ,shallow waters, perfect for a refreshing swim. With a beach bar nearby, visitors can relax with a cool drink, while enjoying the seaside views. Getting here is an adventure in itself. If you love exploring, you can take a 30 minute hike from Katapola, passing through the settlement of Xylokeratidi along the way. If you prefer a quicker route, hop on a water taxi from the port of Katapola and arrive in no time.
Aigiali Beach
Aigiali is a captivating destination with a cycladic atmosphere. This beach boasts gentle turquoise waters,making it ideal for families.Along the shore,you will find a vibrant ethnic beach bar with a laid-back bohemian vibe.It’s an excellent spot for young travellers and those who are looking to enjoy a lively party scene. Located about 45 minute drive from Katapola, Aegiali beach is easily accessible by bus or car, making it a convenient getaway for rest.
Kalotaritisa Beach
It’s a fairly large golden shore, nestled in the southern part of the island. It is known for its deep blue waters and natural bay, providing protection from the wind and waves. If you’re looking for shade, a few trees offer a cool retreat. You can reach the beach by car or bus.
