1.Tsambika Beach
Tsambika Beach is one of the island’s most famous sandy beaches. Its large size means that, even during the summer months, you can usually find a spot that suits you. The waters are clear and shallow, making it ideal for families. There’s a beach bar on the beach, and plenty of open space if you’d rather set up your own umbrella. The minimum spend for sun loungers is about 25€. There’s also a small market in the area, which is especially handy if you want to stock up on water, snacks, or anything else you might need for the day.
Distance from Rhodes Town: about 35–40 minutes by car.
Travel Tip: On your way back, it’s worth stopping at the Eden tavern, located on the road leading from the beach. It has a beautiful courtyard and is famous for its meat dishes and traditional flavors.
What to know: The beach is quite open, and on some days it can be a bit windy.
2.Traganou Beach
Traganou Beach stands out for its pebbles and crystal-clear waters. It’s a quieter option compared to other popular beaches in eastern Rhodes and offers a more relaxed atmosphere. There’s a beach bar with lounge chairs, and at one end of the beach you’ll find an open area where you can set up your own gear. What really sets it apart are the imposing rock formations that create a unique landscape. One of its most beautiful features is the cave, where you can seek out some natural shade and enjoy the scenery.

3.Agathi Beach
Agathi Beach is considered one of the most beautiful sandy beaches on Rhodes. It features golden sand and shallow, turquoise waters, ideal for those who want to enjoy a comfortable swim. The beach is quite spacious, so you can either set up your own umbrella or take advantage of the natural shade provided by a few trees near the shore. There’s also a beach bar where you’ll find coffee, soft drinks, and light snacks.
Distance from the city of Rhodes: about 45–50 minutes.
Travel Tip: If you’re driving a low-slung car, it’s best to park a little further up the road. The last stretch has quite a bit of sand, and the return trip may be difficult for some vehicles.
What to Know: On windy days, the beach is quite affected.
4.Anthony Quinn Beach & Ladiko
Anthony Quinn Beach and Ladiko Beach are located across from each other in the same bay and are among the most photographed spots on Rhodes. Anthony Quinn Beach stands out for its turquoise waters and rocky landscape. You can relax at the beach bar or simply enjoy a dip in the crystal-clear waters. For a meal or coffee, it’s worth heading up to the Kounna Beach Bar restaurant, which offers a beautiful view of the bay. Directly across the bay is Ladiko Beach, a smaller but equally beautiful option. A set of sun loungers costs about €15, while at the far ends of the beach there’s space for those who prefer to set up their own umbrella.
5.Grande Blue Beach
Grande Blue Beach is a well-organized beach with stunning waters and a laid-back atmosphere. A set with sun loungers costs about 15€, not including food or drinks. In some areas, there are trees that provide natural shade, and the spacing between the lounge chairs is ample, making for a more comfortable experience. Above the beach is a seafood tavern with a panoramic view of the bay, perfect for a meal after a swim.

6.Agios Pavlos Beach (Lindos)
